Glacial Lakes HOG Weekly Update 5/11/21

Fellow Hogsters,

The weather this week looks like it is going to be much nicer than last week. We will be in the mid 60's all week. We have some great opportunities this week to get out and do some riding. Don't forget to turn your miles into Justin!

• ANGRY ASTRONAUT RIDE - HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL JUNE 12TH!!!!
  Due to some illnesses we are moving our Angry Astronaut Ride from May 15th to June 12th... Keep an eye out on Social Media and email blasts for more information
  
  
• GLACIAL LAKES INVADES SIOUX FALLS
  Make plans to join the Glacial Lakes HOG Chapter for two great days of riding! We will be heading to Sioux Falls on Friday, May 28th for J&L Bike Night. Enjoy live music by Diablo Sammich, and delicious food from Windy City Bites & Scotty D's BBQ. PLUS, the famous Loud Pipe on Bike Contest will be happening. Bike Night runs from 6-9pm.
  We will be staying at the Quality Inn & Suites - 5410 N Granite Ln., Sioux Falls, SD 57107. There is a room block available for $95/night. To make your reservation, please call the hotel directly at 605-336-1900. You ms specify you are with the Glacial Lakes HOG room block to receive the special room rate. Please make your reservation by Wednesday, April 28th. Rooms are limited.
  On Saturday we will participate in the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society Poker Run. This poker run leaves J&L Harley-Davidson with the final destination being the Fresh Horses Saloon in Harrisburg. Registration is at J&L Harley-Davidson from 11am-1pm. All prizes will be awarded by 5pm - please make sure you are at the final destination by this time.
  If you would like to join us on this fun weekend, please contact Justin at justin@jlharleydavidson.com and he will send you a registration form. We are asking members to sign up for this ride so we can keep a tally of how many members will be joining us.
  
  
• GLACIAL LAKES HOG IS 15 YEARS OLD IN 2021!
  As we get set to celebrate 15 years of Glacial Lakes HOG we are looking at some different ways to celebrate throughout the year! So far we have come up with the following ideas: 15 Year Anniversary News Letter; 15 Year Logo - which we had a tie! Check out last weeks blog post to see them
  
  
• 2021 RIDE BOOKS AND PASSPORTS ARE AT GLACIAL LAKES H-D AND READY TO BE PICKED-UP
  The brand new Ride Book for 2021 is HERE and waiting for you to pick it up at Glacial Lakes Harley-Davidson. In addition to being the indispensable guide to Glacial Lakes HOG, Sioux Falls HOG, and Fargo HOG with all the details about our rides, contests, and activities, this year there is also a NEW Passport Challenge. If you don't have yours yet, stop by and pick one up. See Justin or Tommy.
  
  
• HOG DAKOTA RIDE/MILWAUKEE MUSEUM RIDE
  The HOG Dakota Ride with the Entenman Family and the HOG Milwaukee Museum Ride are both great HOG Events. If you have not participated in either in the past, please consider doing so this year. They are a lot of fun. For more information about these rides, please reach out to May at J&L Harley-Davidson at may@jlharleydavidson.com.
  Greg Drayer will be leading a group of riders to the Milwaukee Museum Ride. He will be leaving from the dealership on Thursday, June 24th and will meet the J&L crew in Lacrosse, WI. More details to come...
  
  
• LOCAL CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP: HAVE YOU RENEWED?
  Remember, even though you may have renewed your National HOG membership with Harley-Davidson (or if you are a Life National member), you still have to be a local Chapter member and renew every year to participate in our activities and contests. A 2021 renewal form is attached for you to print, fill out, and get to Justin with your dues. (Notice that you can also join the J&L and Fargo Chapters and get in on all their activities for a mere $10.00 more!)
