Advanced Rider Training
Good afternoon everyone,
The riding season will be here before we know it and I want us to be as prepared as possible to ride. The South Dakota Safety Council offers an Advanced Rider Class. This class focuses on Braking and Cornering and is only 5 hours long.
The state currently has 2 days of class scheduled on April 27th and 28th. There is a morning and an afternoon class. 4 classes in total. If these classes get filled, we can schedule more through the state. Thankfully the Director of the HOG Chapter, Gary Marohl, and myself are certified instructors by the state. With an extra certification by us we would be able to teach the class.
If you are interested in the Advanced Rider class, please let me know by replying to this email or getting in touch with me at a Happy Hour or Bike Night.
Last year Gary and I got certified by the state to teach the Basic Rider Training class. We then went on and got certified by Harley Davidson to teach for the Rider Academy. The state and Harley Davidson are looking for additional instructors. The HOG group is an amazing talent pool filled with enthusiastic riders that want to teach the next generation of riders the right way. If you are interested in becoming an instructor, please reach out to me or to the Riding Academy Manager at J&L, Kylie Harriman. Her email is kylie.harriman@jlharleydavidson.com
